Just thought I'd share this because it's working so well for me.

Although this might not be an issue for most people, I was having issues with my CNC machine and my dust collector where under certain circumstances, static charge from the dust collection would trip an e-stop on my machine.

I recently had to change the flexible portion because it wore out from movement and replaced it with a length of more flexible ducting that used a spiral wire for the flexibility. I decided to ground the wire inside to my steel main ducting and it eliminated all of the static being generated in the plastic flexible portion.

Neat.

Yep good idea -- early on one of the only problems (it turns out) that we had with our control boards was caused by stray ground faults. We now have 12 gauge grounding wire coiled around and inside all of the duct work. Tied all the machine frames, ducts, controllers, computers right into the power grid ground terminal ground. Seems those 1's and 0's can get confused it if the ground path is not perfectly defined.
